HELLO, AND THANK YOU FOR VISITING MY WEBSITE. My NAME IS AL EISNER. Professionally, I was a principal-investigator scientist for decades, conducting research into the eye and visual system. On The side however, I was an active member of a photo club where I would exhibit photos that i produced in the darkroom myself. But eventually my available time diminished To the point that I regrettably left the club. Thus, I am grateful now to be able to recommit to photography, but this Time in the digital Era and in color rather than black & white.I earned MY PHD, BASED ON STUDIES of color vision and viSual adaptation, DURING THE CARTER ADMINISTRATION.

Having a vision science background is, as one might expect, useful for a photographer. However, this is only part of the story. It's true that modern scientific research relies to a greater or lesser extent on the use of technology, but it relies also on creativity more than is generally recognized. Like science, photography relies on both technology and creativity in ways that different purveyors of the trade will weigh differently. And like science, a result not shared is in many ways a result not accomplished. This website offers a way for me to share my photos.

I have always enjoyed getting outdoors, and I have long -- for various reasons -- appreciated art. I also find animal behavior quite fascinating. While some of the photos here are more artistic than others, I think it is fair to say that all the photos are expressive in some way or another. I hope there are some that you like.
